Developers have confirmed that The Sims 5 will be playable on mobile devices.

The next generation of The Sims is coming. Maxis/EA announced last October during the first Behind The Sims Summit that the next generation of The Sims is currently being developed under the codename Project Rene.

During the livestream, developers showed the current state of the game by showing viewers how furniture can be intricately customized. It looks like an adaptation of the color wheel from The Sims 3 might be making an exciting revamped appearance.

The customization was being done on desktop and then the video shows it ALSO being done on a mobile device! You can see a screenshot from livestream below.

I don’t know about you, but I have wanted to be able to play the full version of The Sims on my mobile device for years. And it looks like that’s exactly what we’ll be getting with The Sims 5. As long time Maxis developer, Lyndsay Pearson, said in the livestream “same experience, different screens”.

Exciting things are coming for The Sims 5 and we can’t wait to learn more. As always, we’ll keep you updated on everything The Sims including The Sims 5.

Don’t forget to tune into the next Behind The Sims livestream on Tuesday, September 12th!
